Hope you had a great 4th of July! I enjoyed mine that’s for sure. Well, who doesn’t like eating way too much and then of course the fireworks! I’ve always been a fan of the 4th festivities.

So with Independence in mind I thought I’d give you a little snippet of my upcoming romance. Since the men are mostly military and they do strive to protect and serve thought it’d be a good fit today.

Adam cursed and turned to see who interrupted. He kept her behind his larger body to keep from embarrassing her any further. Deep down, she was glad for the interruption. Her body was betraying her and getting a handle on that was needed.

“Sorry Adam, but one of the lookouts just outside of town spotted someone of interest. Thought you might want to know immediately.” Tyson was trying desperately not to laugh. He knew his friend was furious at the moment, but they had a job to do. Also from the protective way he stood in front of Gabby he’d interrupted at a bad time.

“Thank you Ty. I’ll be inside in a few minutes.” He stood watching as Tyson didn’t budge. “Don’t you have something you need to be doing?” Adam ground out between clinched teeth.

“Oh yes I do.” He leaned down and picked up Gabby’s bathing suit top with a wicked grin. “I think this belongs to the lady behind you.”

Adam caught it in midair and quickly handed it to Gabby behind him. He felt her trying to get it back on without revealing anything to Tyson. His glare finally sent his smiling friend back inside the villa.

Turning he picked up her bottoms and handed them to her. “I’m sorry for that. Once this is over I promise you we’ll start just where we left off.”

Backing further into the alcove she shook her head. “No Adam we won’t. This was a mistake and Tyson did us both a favor.”

He put his hands on his hips in frustration. “I know you felt the same thing I did. We had something really special and can again.” When she continued to look down at the water flowing around their feet, he reached out and tipped her chin up. “You know we’re great together. I could feel your reaction to my hands on you and soon you’ll be begging me to put them back on you.”

“Don’t kid yourself Adam. Remember me, the woman you left at the altar and embarrassed in front of family and friends. That’s not forgotten overnight.” She walked past him and dove into the pool, swimming to the other end of the pool where she climb out and reached for her towel.
