Just a little naughty romance…

Normally I do a post on writing or an interview with another author, but tonight I’m going to post a little about my books. I’ve almost completed the 2nd book in the My Prodigy Trilogy and working on a Christmas edition to the “Chasing Cowboys” series.

Here’s a little Saturday snippet:

Cowboys or paranormal or ???

Image

It’s funny how fans can be. I had a fan this week question my choice in genres for my newest series, “Chasing Cowboys”. She said “I thought you wrote only paranormal”. I told her I do write paranormal romance, but I like to shake things up and write in other parts of romance. As I always have said, I love anything romance.

She said the new book “Not This Time” she enjoyed, but she really wanted me to finish the second book in the “My Prodigy” Trilogy. I assured her that it’s only a couple of weeks away.

So for those that are worried, I’m still a paranormal girl with a couple of others things rolled in.

Have a great one.

12,000 words and still going…

Well, it’s turned into a writing bonanza. My newest work “Not This Time” has just passed 12,000 words. It’s going a lot better than I’d even imagined.

I had a really sweet message form a fan of the “My Prodigy” series last night on Goodreads. It’s really cool to hear from my fans or as I call them friends. I’ve been really surprised at the results from this series.

My tip for the day is to make sure you get up and walk around periodically. Of course I learned this the hard way earlier. When I got up to get a drink and snack my legs let me know exactly how neglected they were. Oh, well, live and learn.

Have a great Saturday… Maybe I’ll get in another 5,000 words tonight. Fingers crossed.

“Not This Time” Pre Promotion

As you can tell from Tuesday’s blog I’m really excited about my upcoming book release. I’m almost to The End. I have several books in the cooker, but this one took front stage. In the works are the 2nd book to “My Prodigy” series and then I have a office romance and a medical romance.

I like to shake things up a little. I mostly like paranormal and “My Prodigy” is my paranormal series. I also have a ghost series in the works. As it goes with writers, we keep our minds working ahead of ourselves.

Hopefully “Not This Time” will give me a place in the contemporary genre that I’ve not experienced. I love to experiment and shake things up. This series is about cowboys that can’t settle down without some big effort from the leading lady. I’m excited about this one because there’s nothing sexier than a cowboy in a Stetson looking all hot and bothered.

I will keep you updated on the publish date. But for now go out and kiss a cowboy or vampire, whatever your desire.

What part of series do you not understand?

I’ve had some really funny reviews lately. My book “Sweet Innocence” is part of a series called “My Prodigy”. It states it on the cover and at the end of the book it states it again. What’s funny is some of my reviewers have made comments stating they wished there was more to this book or they would love to know more about the story and they’re sorry it had ended.

The good thing about a series is that it continues. That’s the reason the book ends on a cliffhanger so to speak. I guess you have to be overly loud when you say it’s a series. I’ve enjoyed this series so far. I’m almost done with the 2nd book in this series, “Calm Before the Storm”. Also my new series has the first book coming out in June. The series will be about my second favorite thing to read about, which is cowboys. I’ve always loved to read about cowboys. The new series is named “Chasing Cowboys”. The first book is called “Not This Time”.

So try a series if you haven’t. I think you’ll enjoy the ending cliffhangers.

Cover Reveal for Not This Time

Image

I’m very happy to share with you the cover for my upcoming book, Not This Time. My author friend and mentor, Stephanie Payne Hurt, helped out with the cover by way of letting me use her cover designer. I forwarded the pictures and my ideas and her designer, Kaleigh Payne, took over. We were discussing upcoming works in progress and as you know, she writes a lot about cowboys and since my new series is about cowboys, and she has done a lot of covers with cowboys, I think I made the right move.

Here is a small excerpt from Not This Time. I hope you enjoy.

“Good morning sleepy head. How are you this morning?” He kissed her forehead.

“I’m pleasantly tired and a little sore.” She turned red as she said it. He laughed and hugged her.

“Well, that’s normal. It was a busy night, but wonderful.” He held her close.

“It was like a dream. I’m still not sure it wasn’t a dream.” She snuggled closer to him.

He smiled into her hair. “Well, my dear, it wasn’t a dream. If it was, I don’t want to wake up.” He sighed. “I hope you haven’t regretted staying with me last night. It was humbling knowing you gave your virtue to me.”

She held her breath for a moment. Then let it out slowly. “It has always been yours for the taking. I hope you know that.”

Stephanie Payne Hurt and her cover designer, Kaleigh Payne, are more than willing to help other authors with cover design and editing, as they are looking into starting up a small publishing company.
